Can reliable WiFi really help prevent student strikes?

We all know WiFi is an absolute necessity for students, staff and guests (including Eduroam users). However, poorly installed WiFi networks can often cause a huge impact to the user environment, complaints, increase in IT helpdesk calls, poor user experience and can affect the University’s reputation. It can even cause student strikes.

Khipu Networks, one of ASAUDIT’s regular event sponsors, recently saved one of our SA University customers from just that. Students were threatening strikes if the WiFi service was not up and running. Following investigation it was the actual RADIUS eduroam service that needed assistance, Khipu worked with the University over one weekend and had the service ready for the students on the Monday morning, preventing a full strike and “saving the day” – a great success story.
