Publication of CHEITA Global Benchmarking for IT paper
The Coalition of Higher Education Information Technology Associations (CHEITA) Benchmarking Working Group is pleased to present and announce the publication of its first paper on international benchmarking – ‘Benchmarking IT – A Global Approach’. This paper brings together 18 months’ collaborative work by colleagues from ASAUDIT, CUCCIO, CINECA, CAUDIT, EDUCAUSE, EUNIS and UCISA and introduces the CHEITA Global Complexity Index to a global higher education and research audience.
Benchmarking is part of sharing—by comparing ourselves with our peers we can commence a conversation about how services are provisioned, identify areas where we are not performing as effectively as other institutions, and subsequently address those issues. Most, if not all, CHEITA member associations carry out some form of benchmarking with their members, however the outputs from those initiatives vary. The CHEITA Global Complexity Index opens the door to developing more meaningful international higher education and research IT collaborations, partnerships, and communities of practice.
The paper is published under a Creative Commons licence and is for download from the CHEITA web site at http://www.cheita.org/publicationsresources/.
We hope you will find the paper an exciting beginning to the international benchmarking discussion and can attend the presentation session at EDUCAUSE 2015 in Indianapolis. The presentation is scheduled for October 29 at 2:40 pm – 3:30 pm.
